7:30 am cold, sunny Sunday morning, Ali, Scott, Burny, Lee, Debs, Chip, Tweek + Mrs + Little One met at Pear tree services to convoy to Malvern. After a chat and route check we headed off. We were having a nice steady drive through the country lanes in the sunshine, problem free, until a poor innocent pigeon flew directly into Ali’s car, cart wheeled underneath only to be greeted by Lee’s front wheel ..Bye bye birdie!!
A
couple of miles later we pulled up to check for any damage/remains
left by the bird, luckily all was well just a few feathers stuck in
our grilles. So off we set for the last leg of the journey.

20 minutes later we arrived at the Three Counties Showground. Here we were greeted by Shifty, Roo and Matt. Shifty and Roo had stayed in a hotel in Tewkesbury the night before so did,nt have far to come. There were already a lot of cars there and a queue quickly formed once we got in. Once we’d made our way to our club stand, where we were put into position, the polishing started! After a good 45 mins of polishing all the SCMC cars looked fab, so a few of us decided to have a go and entered the show ‘n’ shine. |
Once all the cars were polished we made our way around the trade stands, was a good turnout of trade this year which is always good to see considering the financial climate at the moment. Don’t think any of us spent a massive amount but can safely say everyone came away with one or two goodies, whether it was just an “innocent” sticker or good value set of carpets/mats!
There was a cracking turn out of club stands this year with plenty of lovely looking cars, many of which had also entered the show ‘n’ shine. So after a couple of circuits of the show a few of us headed to the Café/Bar for a drink before making our way to the bottom hall to hear the results of the Show ‘n’ shine. Unfortunately for us none of us were successful with the prizes. Andrew Greenwood said a few words and we all collected our show plaques.

And so with the awards done and dusted we headed back to the stand to pack up and head home. However like most mini shows this wasn’t as simple as it sounded. Whilst everyone else made there way out of the hall Scott and Ali weren’t going anywhere, the car was dead! After calling the others back in they made a joint decision that the starter motor was sticking and so the car was bump started and we headed off. All in all was a good day out, with plenty of laughs and lots of fun was had.
