The day started at Cholsey Railway Station, Oxfordshire at 11.30am on 23/08/2009. The weather was perfect! Run plaques were issued on arrival, that were hand made by Charlotte.

After everyone had arrived the run was started just after 12, lead by Shifty to our first destination/stop off point – Six Bells on the Green, Oxfordshire.

The minis were lined up on the lady of the manors front lawn (we had her permission of course ;D), photos were taken, and the discussion of lunch was the main subject of conversation. With a quick route change, we set off to our next destination point The Bull Inn, Great Milton, Oxfordshire for some much needed food.

After being fuelled up, Charlotte, Shifty and Roo couldn’t resist the pubs children’s facilities as normal and had to play!

After much messing around and photos we moved on to the next part of the run. The Golden Ball in West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. From this point the run was lead by Roo as she knew the roads and area very well.

On arrival the minis were lined up again for more photos. Drinks were issued out along with the flying saucers and haribo. After the haribo and flying saucer challenge was completed by Shifty and Dan (they had to beat each other on how many they could fit in their mouth all at once, Dan won both) we decided to go and see if the tower up to the Golden Ball was open. It was! Climbing the old wooden, creaky steps we finally reached the top and was greeted with a lot of wind and some amazing views.

After more photos and a quick chat nobody wanted the run to end. After a bit of quick thinking by Roo another stop off point was made for cash and then at the Blacksmith Arms Harvester at Handy cross, Buckinghamshire for a quick drink. From this point nobody knew where they were going except Roo. Leaving the pub, everyone was taken down some brilliant mini roads,.(Hills, bends, national speed limit), to Marlow, Buckinghamshire. We travelled through Marlow to Henley, where we were making this as our final destination point/end of the run. (we also found the pub we were going to stop off for lunch at en route)

Arriving in Henley we parked up at the space we found on our first club meet, in front of the river.

After an ice cream, more photos and a quick chat we finally departed to make our way home.

It was a brilliant day! Lots of mini roads and nice pubs were found. The weather was perfect! The company was perfect! What more could you want for a run in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire?? Well for us… Dan’s mini being there would have made the run complete. We look forward to the next one and hope that more people will join us on our fun packed adventure we call the Mordor run!
